Dr. Bentham earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with great distinction as well as her medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan.
She went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa and Ottawa General Hospital, before finishing a fellowship in oculoplastics at the University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital as well as additional training in refractive surgery. Dr. Bentham is board-certified in both the United States and Canada.
Dr. Bentham specializes in oculoplastics and treating cataracts. She’s had experience working in a number of hospitals, including Vancouver General Hospital and Ottawa General Hospital. She was also a teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine.
Dr. Bentham has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards. She earned the University of Ottawa’s Resident Teaching Award in 2021, and the Association of Physicians Heritage Award from the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.
Moreover, Dr. Bentham has shared her work in a variety of publications and presentations. Her papers have been featured in journals such as Orbit and the International Journal on Orbital Disorders, Oculoplastic, and Lacrimal Surgery.
She’s been invited to present her work at conferences for the Canadian Ophthalmology Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, among many.
