Dr. Brennan Eadie completed his medical degree in neuroscience as well as an ophthalmology residency at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at Dalhousie University.
Prior to this, Dr. Eadie finished a Master of Science in neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, both at UBC.
Dr. Eadie specializes in treating cataracts and glaucoma, but also has experience with oculoplastics, neuro-ophthalmology, and general as well as pediatric ophthalmology.
Currently, Dr. Eadie performs private cataract surgery at the Halifax Vision Centre. He is also an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University, where he trains ophthalmology residents and fellows in cataract and glaucoma surgery. Moreover, he is the President and CEO of Eadie Technologies Inc., which develops novel glaucoma diagnostic devices.
Dr. Eadie previously worked at the Royal Columbian Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, and Vancouver General Hospital, all located in British Columbia.
Dr. Eadie has earned a number of awards over the years for his work, including both the InnovaCorp Spark Award and the InnovaCorp Accelerate Award for “Development of a Novel Visual Field Analyzer for Improved Clinical Care of Patients with Glaucoma.”
As a passionate researcher, Dr. Eadie has explored a variety of complex ophthalmological topics, including glaucoma diagnostics, glaucoma epidemiology, and surgical devices. His work has been featured in publications such as Ophthalmology, Glaucoma Now, and Neurobiology of Disease.
He’s also presented his work at numerous conferences, including for the Canadian Ophthalmology Society, Society for Neuroscience Pacific Northwest, and the Canadian Ophthalmic Imaging Symposium.
