Marc Bergevin gets rid of his reading glasses thanks to PresbyVision™
General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team, Marc Bergevin wasn’t ready to let his vision slow him down. The (very) busy manager is up at all hours, dealing with players, coaches, staff, and the media. This hectic schedule imparts an image of an air-traffic controller, perfectly coordinating (instead) the dance of incoming emails, phone calls, interviews, and more. When he noticed that his glasses to treat his up-close reading vision loss (presbyopia) started to get in the way, he came to us.
We offer two versions of our PresbyVision™ procedure, long-term solutions for up-close reading vision loss. They are also designed to treat other refractive errors like myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism.
Putting out fires is a lot easier now for Bergevin, who no longer has to reach for one of his (almost) dozen pairs of reading glasses for those 5 a.m. emails. He also notes an improved quality of life when it comes to driving, working out, and, of course, watching hockey games. While he acknowledges that that period of time between “when the puck drops at 7 p.m., until 9:45 p.m. is the hardest” because he can’t control what happens, being freed from his reading glasses has given him back control in other areas in his life.
